ThyssenKrupp enters into a partnership with Logenios

Thousands of shipments are carried out by ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG – as the leading manufacturer of high-quality steel products – on a monthly basis, at their various national and international locations.

In Duisburg alone, this concerns more than 20,000 transports.

When a forwarding agent arrives at the gate or driveway later than planned, by eg. an unfavorable traffic situation or for any other reason, this can be very sensitive to the coordinated processes. To counter this, ThyssenKrupp has decided to use eConnect, an open logistics platform.

Thanks to the transparency and seamless real-time exchange of status information between all parties involved in the supply chain – made possible by the web-base integration portal eConnect – ThyssenKrupp immediately learns when deviations occur during transport. The department responsible for the follow-up and coordination of shipments can react flexibly to short-term changes at any time and thus monitor the business processes considerably better.

ThyssenKupp uses the “Industrial Data Space” platform, developed by the Fraunhofer institute, for secure transfer of information.

The eConnect platform, originally introduced as a test, convinced ThyssenKrupp, so that the internationally renowned steel manufacturer has now expanded its cooperation with LOGENIOS and continues with this solution. We look forward to continuing a reliable and efficient collaboration.
